Project overview
A space shaped around
how life unfolds.
Courtyard Lines responds to the long proportions of a coastal villa. The challenge was to preserve openness while giving its generous rooms a comfortable domestic scale.
Furniture groupings, ceiling planes and low architectural elements create rooms within rooms. Views remain uninterrupted from the entry to the courtyard, while the experience becomes more intimate at the scale of a chair, table or pool of light.
Project gallery
Light, material
and lived detail.
Photography placeholders establish the intended editorial rhythm. Final imagery can be reordered to tell the project story naturally.
Design notes
The decisions
behind the rooms.
- 01
The brief
Bring warmth and intimacy to a large villa without interrupting its relationship with the courtyard and coast.
- 02
Spatial approach
Strong horizontal lines organize the plan, while layered seating groups allow the main room to support different patterns of use.
- 03
Material character
Travertine, walnut, woven linen and softly patinated metal echo the quiet colours of the coastal setting.
